The Belize Public Service is approximately 16,000 working citizens STRONG which is only 9.8 % of the total employed citizens. Total Employees in the public sector, private sector, NGOs, and others is an estimated 162,759 employed persons countrywide as of September 2024. We have an increase of 1,711 (1% employment growth) compared to September 2023. Males represented 60.6%, 39.4% females of the employed population, and almost half of all employed persons were aged 25 to 44 years old. Approximately 90.2% are non-government workers as of December 2024
The Business Establishment Survey by Statistical Institute of Belize surveyed 4,154 businesses from all economic sectors, with the exception of banking and insurance activities. Based on the survey’s results, it is estimated that there are 7,975 active business establishments in Belize in 2016. This is such a large and great local market.
There are many things that cannot be taken care of or fit under the management or administration of the GOB Public Service, or even private sector nor Unions but fall under a unique organization of which its needs are not being taken off. The working community needs a community to express themselves!
